TCKs of Color in International Schools: The Politics of Belonging & Internalized Racism

I’ll be speaking at the International School Counselor Association (ISCA) Collaborative in November.

This time I will dive deeper student experiences of internalized racism and its impact on identity and family relationships, as well as what it takes to overcome it. Closely related to this is the significance of home language fluency to a child’s sense of identity.

Furthermore, I will look at the way cultural orientation changes over time as children develop their sense of identity and how it intersects with experiences of mobility.
